Cabbage Casserole

1 small head cabbage, shredded
1 ½ lb. ground beef
1 medium onion
1 cup cooked rice, drained
1 can tomato soup
1 soup can water
Salt and pepper to taste
Brown  ground beef and onion  until lightly browned.  Pour off excess grease. In  bowl,  Mix tomato soup with water.  Add a little salt and pepper.  Cover the bottom of a casserole dish with half the shredded cabbage, then half of the ground beef mixture, then the rice.     Pour half the soup mixture over this.  Cover with the rest of cabbage and the rest  of the meat, and pour remainder of soup  mixture  over cabbage.  Cover casserole and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes or until cabbage is well cooked.
